Javadekar Arriving Today

Will oversee the election of BJPLP leader and discuss various issues with State officials

BHUBANESWAR: Union Minister of State for Environment and Forests Prakash Javadekar, who is scheduled to visit Odisha on Friday to oversee the election of BJP Legislature Party (BJPLP) leader, will discuss various issues with State officials, including the delay in environment and forest clearances to industrial projects in Odisha.

Sources said Javadekar will discuss the problems in getting clearances for projects in the State with officials from the Forest and Environment department on Friday. Officials from Information and Public Relations department will also meet Javadekar, who also holds the Information and Broadcasting portfolio.

The Minister will later visit Puri to take the blessings of the Trinity at Shree Gundicha Temple. Javadekar, who has been appointed as observer for the election of the party leader in the Assembly, will attend the meeting of the BJPLP at the party office here on Friday. Election of the BJPLP leader was postponed due to the busy schedule of Javadekar. The meeting was originally scheduled on June 11. BJP State president K V Singhdeo is now holding the post.
