BHUBANESWAR: City bus operator Dream Team Sahara (DTS) has been allowed to operate eight air-conditioned buses from a special parking space at Talabania in Puri, during the ongoing Rath Yatra.
Issuing the order on Saturday, the High Court directed the Puri district administration to provide special space for plying those buses during the festival, from the one provided to Orissa State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC).
DTS representatives said though last year the Housing and Urban Development (H&UD) Department had allowed DTS to use the bus stand facility at Talabania, Private Bus Owners’ Association was causing problems for the operator.
DTS was facing stiff resistance against plying its buses on the Puri route during Sunabesha and Bahuda.
This order from High Court will bring relief to the DTS officials as they can now operate eight air-conditioned buses from the enclosure, as opposed to the current four.
