BHUBANESWAR: Odisha moved a step ahead in implementation of e-governance with the launch of a mobile app ‘MINA’ (Mayurbhanj IAY NREGA App) for monitoring progress of Indira Awas Yojana and Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) in Mayurbhanj district.

With the launch of the new application, the District Collector and block development officers will now be able to monitor progress of projects under these schemes sitting in their offices, homes or while on the move. Every gram rozgar sevak will be provided with a smart phone to transmit data and visuals directly from the work site to the officials concerned.

Minister of State (Ind) for Panchayatiraj Arun Sahu formally launched the project in 100 gram panchayats of the district.

The project will be later extended to all the gram panchayats in the district, official sources said and added that it will be implemented in other districts in phases.
