BHUBANESWAR: Two youths in their early twenties were arrested by police on charges of abducting a minor girl from Salia Sahi under Nayapalli police limits on Monday.
The accused have been identified as Akash Digal and Amit Pradhan, both residents of Behera Sahi in Nayapalli. As per a complaint lodged by the father of 16-year-old girl, she was abducted by the two on July 9 while returning from school. On a search, police apprehended Digal and Pradhan from a deserted location near Khurda. She was handed over to her parents and both the accused were sent to the Capital Hospital for a medical examination, police said. They will be produced in court on Tuesday after the victim records her statement before the magistrate.
