SALEPUR: Five motorcycle borne unidentified miscreants snatched `2 lakh from two Village Level Workers (VLWs) of Nischintakoili block at gun point near Manitri in Kendrapara district on Tuesday.
The VLWs, Arakhita Sahoo and Rabindra Sidhu, had withdrawn the money from Orti branch of UCO Bank for payment of old age, widow and disability pension in Narendrapur gram panchayat and kept it in the side box of their motorcycle. The miscreants intercepted them near Manitri. They assaulted the VLWs and took away money at gun point.
Minor’s Body Found
Kendrapara: The body of a 14-year-old boy was found with his hands and legs tied near Karilopatana bridge under Patkura police limits here on Tuesday. The unidentified body, which bore injury marks, has been sent for post-mortem.
