Senior Journo Passes Away

BARIPADA:  Veteran journalist, Amarendra Lal Bose, passed away at his Baripada residence on Tuesday. He was 86 and is survived by wife, son and daughter.

He suffered a heart attack and succumbed before he could be shifted to hospital.

Bose, who started his career in 1951, contributed to a number of national, including The New Indian Express, and regional dailies, besides news agencies.

His reports on forest, environment and wildlife were widely appreciated. He was also appointed honorary wildlife warden for Mayurbhanj for his stories on protection and conservation of forests and wildlife in Simlipal National Park.

He was conferred D.Litt by the North Odisha University.

People from different walks of life paid their last respects.
