Children paint their  World

BHUBANESWAR: Nearly 100 children from different schools participated in the third edition of a painting competition titled  ‘Kuni Chitrakara’ on Sunday last. Children in the age group of five years to 15 years translated their imagination into paper at the competition which was held in three categories at Orissa Modern Art Gallery (OMAG).

Organised by Bhubaneswar-based non-profit organization Soumya Memorial Trust, the paintings will be judged by a jury and all the paintings will be displayed at the gallery on July 20. The same day, the winners will be awarded and free art coaching will be provided to some children for one year at OMAG. This year the trust will felicitate an young and dynamic artist Manash Kumar Das for his contribution to the field of art.

Chairman of the trust Kanhu Charan Parida said, ‘’The objective behind this event is to identify the most gifted students, increase the level of performance, create conditions for the creative development of young kids and preserve the unique Odia culture and traditions.’’
