PHULBANI: Executive Officer of Phulbani Municipality Biranchi Narayan Hota was arrested by Vigilance sleuths while accepting a bribe of `10,000 from a local market levy collector on Thursday.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (Vigilance) HK Behera said Tuna Patra of Kendupadar was assigned to collect levy from the vegetable vendors.
When Tuna wanted the executive officer to increase levy amount, the latter demanded `20,000. Then, Tuna approached the Vigilance officials.
