Two Feared Drowned

BHUBANESWAR: Two persons were feared drowned in Gangua nullah at Nuagaon here on Sunday.

The missing persons are identified as Prasanna Behera (28) of Nuagaon and Kedar Behera (18), who belongs to Harichandi Sahi at Old Town under Lingaraj Police limits.

Sources said both Prasanna and Kedar had gone to bring their cattle back from grazing on Sunday afternoon.

While crossing the nullah, Kedar, who did not know swimming, slipped in the canal.

In his attempt to save his life, Kedar pulled Prasanna along with him and both of them were washed away by the water current, said sources.

A 12-member team of the Fire department rushed to the spot and started rescue operations. The bodies are yet to be traced till last reports came in.
