Hirakud Water at 612 Feet

SAMBALPUR: Water level in Hirakud dam reservoir has been rising constantly with 10.14 mm rainfall recorded upstream on Wednesday.

The dam authorities have decided to discharge the first batch of flood water through sluice gates between 11 am and 1 pm on Thursday.

Till 6 pm on Wednesday, water level in the reservoir stood at 612.15 feet against full capacity of 630 feet, even as inflow to the dam was 5,53,420 cusecs. However, to maintain the balance, the outflow is being maintained at 23,803 cusecs through power channel and canals.
