BHUBANESWAR: The Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) of Nayagarh on Thursday permitted the remand petition of Odisha Crime Branch which sought custody of dreaded Maoist Sabyasachi Panda in connection with the attack on Nayagarh armoury in 2008.The Nayagarh Court will now write to its Berhampur counterpart seeking production of the accused before it. IG, Crime Branch, YB Khurania said the agency made a formal request for remand of the Maoist over the nine cases registered against him in Nayagarh. “The court has permitted our petition. Now it will write to Berhampur SDJM to spare the accused for production as per the procedures,” Khurania said. The CB has made a similar prayer before the Kandhamal District and Sessions Court as Sabyasachi is accused in three cases in the district.
