CUTTACK: Commissionerate Police on Thursday busted an inter-district dacoit gang, arresting seven of its members near Sati Choura here. One revolver, two live bullets, a motorcycle and two mobile phones were seized from their possession.
The arrested were identified as Bijay Sahu (26), Trinath Saha (24), Birabar Gochayat (24), Maharagu Bhoi (36) and Batakrushna Gochayat (37) of Mangalabag area along with Goga and Rakesh Behera of Khurda and Puri respectively.
The gang had assembled with the intention of carrying out a robbery in the area. The gang was involved in several dacoity cases in and around Cuttack and spanned to Puri, Khurda and Nayagarh districts, police said.
