BHUBANESWAR: A 30-year-old man was arrested by Nayapalli police on charges of cheating a person of `1.10 lakh on Wednesday.
The accused Tushar Kanta Mohanty, a resident of Nayapalli, had promised complainant Rashmi Ranjan Rout of Bhadrak to facilitate the latter's appointment in a private company within 15 days. He had demanded `1.50 lakh for the purpose to which Rout paid `1.10 lakh.
On not getting any appointment call as promised, Rout tried to contact Mohanty several times but to no avail.
Rout later lodged a complaint with Nayapalli police in this regard following which Mohanty was nabbed.
