KORAPUT: After the district administration dismissed a Supervisor of Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) in Borrigumma block for submitting fake certificates, the documents of newly appointed government employees in the district are under scanner of district Vigilance Committee. After receiving several complaints from different quarters, the committee has geared up the machineries to take up the matter seriously.
Several organisations working on weaker sections of the region have been appealing to the administration to review the caste and academic certificates of all government employees in the district. They also alleged that fake certificates were produced by the employees for promotion. But, the administration had not taken up the matter seriously.
Recently, the administration started verifying the documents of some employees on a tip-off that those were fake. Sources said the documents of over 4,000 government employees in the district are likely to be verified. Several applicants of different districts and even States have been appointed in the district on the basis of their documents and the administration would verify all the documents, said a senior official of the district administration.
Meanwhile, the administration has dismissed the Supervisor of ICDS in Borrigumma block after it was confirmed that he had produced fake certificate from a university of Andhra Pradesh.
