KENDRAPARA: Villagers of Satabhaya were on Friday shifted to Gupti by the district administration in wake of the approaching cyclone.
Collector Pramod Kumar Das said all cyclone shelters in the district have been kept ready and stocked with dry food, generator sets, candles and other essential commodities. People of Kanhupur and Pentha too shifted to safer places.
“Nearly a lakh people were evacuated today and the process would continue till Saturday evening,” the Collector added.
