BALASORE: The Chief Minister is likely to lay the foundation stone of a medical college and hospital at Remuna on Tuesday.
Balasore Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO), Anup Ghosh, on Saturday convened a meeting of all the office bearers of Government Medical College and Hospital Action Committee, which had been making the demand at different fora for the last eight years.
Earlier following the approval from the Medical Council of India (MCI), the Centre had given its nod to open four medical colleges at Balangir, Koraput, Mayurbhanj and Balasore where the number of beds in the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) is more than 300. The State has three Government and two private medical colleges that have been set up in Western, Southern and Central regions.
