Pact for Bulk Water Supply Project

BHUBANESWAR : The State Government on Monday signed a concession agreement under Public Private Partnership (PPP) with a private player for a bulk water supply project in the Capital city.

The project will supply water to Indian Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar and National Institute of Science, Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar, Infocity-II, Sea Food Park at Deras as well as Khurda and Jatni towns.

The agreement was signed between public health engineering organisation (urban) and a special purpose vehicle formed by consortium of Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited (MEIL) and Koya and Company Construction Limited (KCCL) in the presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

Secretary in the Housing and Urban Development Department G Mathi Vathanan said the project estimated at `188 crore will be operational by April, 2017. The project will benefit more than two lakh population.
