BHUBANESWAR : Apollo Hospitals, Bhubaneswar has undertaken a programme to raise awareness on osteoporosis, the debilitating bone disease which affects more than half of the population over 50 years. It is one of the major causes of joint damage and fracture. While calling for sensitising public in adopting healthy diet and an active lifestyle, experts have stressed on educating people on Total Knee Replacement and Total Hip Replacement as treatment for damage of joints.These can free the patients from the pain and enable them to lead a near normal life. The hospital has claimed to have completed 450 successful joint replacement.
