CBI Gets 4-day Remand of Dev

BHUBANESWAR:A Delhi Metropolitan Court has granted four days’ remand of Debashis Dev to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the MMS scandal case.

Dev, who was arrested on March 31 by the probe agency, was handed over to CBI on Wednesday. His remand would conclude on Saturday.

The Central agency is trying to find out from Dev - who filmed the young woman with the builder Subrat Sahu - if there were more players involved in the scandal.

Since there have been allegations of Sahu exploiting girls through blackmailing tactics with Dev as an accomplice, the probe agency is ascertaining if more women were victims of the duo.

Sahu was arrested by the CBI on March 24 following a Supreme Court order to probe videos of rapes or gang-rapes of unidentified victims uploaded on social networking sites and mobile applications.

The apex court had issued the directions following the petitions filed by a Hyderabad-based NGO in this connection.
