Ex-Secy Gen of HRAO Passes Away

BHUBANESWAR: Former secretary general of Hotel and Restaurant Association of Odisha (HRAO) Jagdish Patnaik passed away after suffering a massive cardiac arrest in his Saheed Nagar residence here on Monday morning. He was 65.

Patnaik, who was acting managing director of Hotel Anarkali, served as secretary general of HRAO from 1984 to 2007.

HRAO Chairman JK Mohanty said Patnaik contributed immensely to the association’s growth and was instrumental in making the Puri Beach Festival a success. He was known to be a very popular figure in the circle.

Patnaik is survived by his wife, son and daughter. His last rites were conducted at Swargadwar in Puri.
