Ayush Doctor Held With 'Bhang' in Jaipur

JAIPUR: An Ayush doctor was arrested by Excise sleuths on Monday and 10 quintals of ‘bhang’ seized from his residence at Khandarapur village under Panikoili police limits in the district. The contraband is worth over `10 lakh.

The accused doctor has been identified as Upendra Gantayat (33), who works in Korei Hospital.

Flying squad of the Excise Department, Cuttack, led by DSP Harish Chandra Sethy conducted the raid at Upendra’s house on a tip off and seized machines and packing materials used in preparation of ‘Satabhari’ from ‘bhang’.

Upendra was allegedly procuring the contraband from a Sankhachila-based smuggler to prepare ‘Satabhari’ pouches in his house. Apparently, his house is located just three km away the from local police station.
