BERHAMPUR:  After about a fortnight, Ganjam police on Tuesday  arrested two persons on charges of killing former chairman of Buguda NAC Balakrushna Patra. Police also recovered a mauser and six rounds of bullets from their possession.

The arrested have been identified as Bhalu Sahu alias Bhagaban, the mastermind and a shooter Sunil Sethi. Patra was shot dead on November 24 over past enmity.

Talking to mediapersons DIG (SR) Amitav Thakur said, Patra was into liquor trade in Buguda for more than a decade and Bhalu too sold liquor in Charmaili of Aska. Bhalu wanted to take control over the trade alone and planned to eliminate Patra, said the DIG. For the purpose, he contacted Bikram Malik, Susil Behera alias Lipu, Sunil Nayak alias Sultan who along with the Sahu killed Patra, Thakur added.

Other persons involved in the murder will be nabbed soon, said Thakur.
