Court Rejects BJD MP's Bail Petition

BHUBANESWAR: The Khurda District and Sessions Court on Thursday rejected the interim bail application of suspended Biju Janata Dal MP Rama Chandra Hansda. Hansda, who was arrested in connection with the Nabadiganta Capital Services Limited in 2014, had sought the court’s permission to attend the winter session of the Parliament. However, the Khurda court rejected the plea. The MP is likely to move the Orissa High Court seeking relief. The winter session of the Parliament will conclude on December 23. Hansda is currently lodged at the Special jail, Jharpada in the Capital City.
