Govt Official's House Looted

BHUBANESWAR: Miscreants broke into the house of a State Government official at Lingipur under Dhauli police limits on Monday night and looted cash and jewellery worth Rs  four lakh.

According to police, the incident occurred at around 3 am when the family of Odisha State Cooperative Bank AGM Girish Dash was asleep.

Four miscreants broke the window and entered into Dash’s house. On hearing the noise, Dash and his wife woke up and resisted the robbers.

One of the robbers tied up Dash and his wife, opened the wardrobe and looted Rs 40,000 in cash and ornaments worth Rs 3.6 lakh. They fled after committing the crime.

On Tuesday morning, Dash reported the matter to police which went to the spot with a scientific team and conducted a preliminary inquiry. A case was registered in this connection and further investigation is on, an official of Dhauli police station said.
