ROURKELA: Members of a local outfit on Wednesday claimed that land at different places worth about `100 crore have been grabbed by Adivasi Mulwasi Mulwasi Bachao Manch (AMBM) and followers of the manch’s leader and Birmitrapur MLA George Tirkey.
A delegation of the outfit, Awaaz, on Wednesday submitted a memorandum, addressed to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, to Rourkela ADM K Sudershan Chakravorty.
At Nuagaon Mouza of Lathikata Tehsil, members of a particular community and Tirkey supporters grabbed around 300 acres of Government land valued at over `100 cr, they alleged. Awaaz convenor Saroj Swain, who has filed an extortion case against Tirkey for demanding `10 lakh, sought immediate action against Tirkey and AMBM.
