CUTTACK: A 30-year-old youth died in a road accident near Badambadi bus stand here on Wednesday.
The incident occurred after one Babuli Sahu fell from his motorcycle and a car ran over him. Sahu was rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital where he was declared dead.
Police arrested the driver of the car and forwarded him to court. Sahu was a resident of Thoria Sahi. As the news of his death spread, Thoria Sahi locals placed Sahu’s body at Badambadi police station and demanded compensation for the bereaved family.
They were pacified after senior police officials intervened and Sahu’s body was taken for cremation.
