Pujari Injured in WB Lathicharge

BHUBANESWAR:  National BJP secretary and former president of party’s State unit Suresh Pujari was injured along with other party leaders during a protest against West Bengal Government at Barasat on Thursday.

Pujari, who is also party’s co-in-charge for West Bengal, sustained injuries on his head. He was admitted to nearest hospital. As a part of the party’s ‘jail bharo andolan’, the BJP supporters were demonstrating outside the district Collector’s office in protest against the alleged deteriorating law and order situation, misrule of TMC Government and chit-fund scam. Pujari said police lathicharged agitators in which several party workers were injured. State BJP president KV Singhdeo condemned the lathicharge by police and termed it as an inhuman act of the Trinamool Congress Government.
