Students Get OP Jindal Scholarships

ANGUL: The OP Jindal Scholarships-2015 were given away to 149 meritorious students of various schools of Chhendipada and Banarpal blocks of Angul district by the JSPL Foundation.

The foundation is the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of Jindal Steel & Power Ltd.

Executive Director and Location Head of JSPL, DK Saraogi presented the scholarship certificates and cheques to  students at the Jindal Nagar township in presence of JSPL ED Sabyasachi Bandyopadhyay, VP-HR CD Mathew, CSR head SK Sharma, Principal of DAV Savitri Jindal High School NK Pradhan and Principal of OP Jindal School Chhanda Charan Das.

Of the 149 students, 90 from 48 high schools in Angul district were awarded for their performance in this year’s HSC examination and they will be given `12,000 as scholarship amount per year to pursue higher secondary studies. Five scholars were selected on the basis of their performance in JEE-2015 examination. These students will be given `24,000 per year for engineering education.

OP Jindal Scholarships are being awarded to students from the year 2013 on the basis of academic performance and economic status of the family.
