BHUBANESWAR: Burglars broke into a house in Shyampur village and decamped with gold jewellery worth lakhs of rupees and cash late on Wednesday night.
The loss is pegged at about ` seven lakh. Police said the thieves broke open the window of the house of one Dasarathi Bal and cleaned up the jewellery and cash kept in a chest. Recently, Bal family had celebrated their son’s wedding and the jewellery and cash were kept in the house.
A complaint has been lodged with Khandagiri police but no breakthrough has been achieved yet.
