Poet Rabi Singh to get Sahitya Bharati Samman

CUTTACK: The prestigious Sahitya Bharati Samman would be conferred on poet Rabi Singh this year.

The award instituted by Gangadhar Rath Foundation carries a cash prize of ` one lakh along with a memento of Sun Temple of Konark. It will be presented at a function to be held at Kala Vikash Kendra here on March 15.

The foundation will also confer the Shri Gangadhar Rath Smaraki Samman on journalist and social worker Manorama Mohapatra. The Bhanuji Rao Smaraki Puraskar and Binapani Mohanty Katha Sahitya Puraskar carrying cash prize of `25,000 each will be awarded to poet Hussain Rabi Gandhi and novelist Indira Das respectively.

The Subrat Rath Smaraki Puraskar will be presented to Sahadev Sahoo and Dr Rabinarayan Moharana on the occasion, Foundation Trustee Dr Jayant Rath announced.
