Police Mobile App for Twin City Residents

BHUBANESWAR: With an aim to reach out to people in distress through use of web-based technology, the Police Commissionerate has decided to introduce a mobile application in the twin city.

The mobile app will be launched by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on the occasion of the eighth foundation day of Commissionerate Police on 7th Infantry Battalion premises here on January 15.

The app will be available on all smart phones and is primarily directed for protection of women and senior citizens, said Police Commissioner RP Sharma.

Residents can use the app to alert police of any untoward incident and criminal activities. “The application will soon be made GPSenabled to track the location of the user,” said Sharma.

The app will be further upgraded so that residents can also lodge complaint through their smart phones, he added.
