GA Dept Nod to 22 Infra Projects

Developers advised to ground their projects within one year failing which the allotted land will be cancelled

BHUBANESWAR: The site selection and land allotment committee of the General Administration Department on Tuesday approved 22 infrastructure projects including social housing schemes for the city.

A meeting of the committee chaired by Chief Secretary GC Pati decided that land for these projects will be provided after getting details of the project from the developers with a written commitment for completion in time.

Government land is required for projects like social housing scheme at Dumuduma, Patrapada, Bhagabanpur, Subudhipur and Paikrapur, construction of night shelters in Bomikhal, Chandrasekharpur, Ghatikia and Ashok Nagar and establishment of urban public health centres (PHCs) at Patia, Chandrasekharpur, Pokhariput, Ghatikia and Samantarapur.

Construction of Vigilance Cell office and staff quarters in Chandrasekharpur; regional office building for Health and Family Welfare, Bhubaneswar; Eastern Air Force headquarters for undertaking disaster relief mission; CBI residential complex in Chandrasekharpur and court guest house at Bapuji Nagar has been approved by the committee.

Other projects include 33/11 KV primary substations at Ashok Nagar, Chandrasekharpur and Gadakana, construction of reservoir and pump house at Patrapada, developing of commercial centre at Jharpada, pumping stations at Mancheswar and Baramunda and establishment of prefabricated fish selling kiosks at different locations of the city.

The Chief Secretary advised to make economic use of land by making realistic assessment of the requirement for various projects. The project developers have been advised to ground their projects within one year of allotment of land failing which the allotted land will be cancelled.
