CM Pledges 3L Jobs by 2019

JHARSUGUDA:  Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday said employment would be provided to three lakh youths in the State by 2019. He was here to inaugurate a number of projects and lay foundation stones of a few more.

Naveen inaugurated a 33/11 KV sub-station at Lahandabud, which would provide power supply to 32 villages. The sub-station developed at a cost of `2.17 crore will also redress low voltage problem of the area. The rest of the foundation stone laying and inauguration events were done at the Collectorate.

Addressing a public gathering, the Chief Minister emphasised on industrialisation by tapping natural resources. “Industrialisation would further open up job opportunities besides helping in overall development of the State,” he said.

He also inaugurated the new collectorate building, District Planning and Monitoring Unit building and Sanskruti Bhawan in Jharsuguda town.

Naveen laid foundation stone for five mega lift irrigation projects which would irrigate 3600 hectares in 39 villages of the district. The estimated cost of the five projects is `76 crore. Similarly, foundation stone of a 33/11 KV sub-station was laid at Durlaga.
