BHUBANESWAR: A 42-year-old man allegedly committed suicide in his house at Nilakantha Nagar under Laxmi Sagar police limits on Wednesday.
The man was identified as Ashok Kumar Sharma of Barabazar in Purulia district of West Bengal. He is believed to have consumed poison.
Sharma was spotted by his wife in an unconscious state during early hours of the day. She rushed her husband to Capital Hospital where the doctors pronounced him dead.
While Sharma was employed with a private finance firm in the Capital for over 10 years, police sources said financial issues could have been the reason behind him taking the extreme step. He is survived by wife and an eight-year-old son.
Body of the deceased was sent for autopsy and a case of unnatural death registered in this connection.
