JAIPUR: A youth was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly posting obscene photographs of a girl on social networking sites after she refused to have physical relationship with him. Both the victim and the accused, Satyajit Swain (18) of Rahala village under Balichandrapur police limits, are students of a Plus Two college here and stayed in the same locality.
Police have also arrested three of his friends - Sk Saikat Ali (21), Sk Nazul Islam (21) and Nisar Khan (22) - as they helped him circulate the pictures.
The arrests came after a complaint was filed by the girl’s father. Police said Satyajit and the girl were in a relationship and six months back, he had taken the girl to a tourist spot nearby where he clicked some obscene pictures of her with his mobile phone.
A few days later, he started threatening the girl of making the pictures public if she refused to have physical relationship with him. When the girl denied to give in to his demands, he circulated her photographs in Facebook and WhatsApp.
One of the girl’s relatives, who saw her pictures on the website, informed her father following which he registered a police complaint on Monday. Police arrested Satyajit and his friends on Tuesday and produced them in a local court, which remanded them in judicial custody.
Police also seized four mobile phones from them which contained obscene pictures of the girl.
