'No Mobile Phone Used During Brahma Parivartan Ritual'

PURI: No mobile phone was used in the Jagannath temple during the ‘Brahma Parivartan’ ritual on June 15 and 16. This was informed by the Chief Administrator of Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), Suresh Chandra Mohapatra on Tuesday.

Following an investigation into the reports of photographs of the sacred rituals, ‘Brahma’ and ‘Patali’ of the old deities being circulated in the social networking sites, a high-level inquiry was ordered by the State Government recently. “It has been found that all the pictures circulated in social media are fake. Devotees should not take these photographs seriously,” he told mediapersons here.

Meanwhile, the Badagrahi Daitapatis of the temple on Tuesday began treating the ailing Trinity with ‘Phuluri Tela’ (an aromatic herbal oil). The aromatic oil is being provided to the temple by Bada Odia Mutt and would be applied to the deities for a period of nine days.
