Compendium on Puri Fest Released

BHUBANESWAR: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday released a compendium on Nabakalebara.

The book titled ‘Nabakalebara-An Archival Document’ published by the State Archives of the Culture and Tourism department contains detailed information about the age-old ritual of Jagannath temple when the idols of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra and Lord Sudarshan are replaced by a new set of idols.

Culture and Tourism Secretary Arabinda Padhee is the chief editor of the book while noted academics and researchers Mahesh Prasad Dash, Atul Chandra Pradhan, Rajkishore Mishra, Kailash Chandra Das, culture director Ranjit Mohanty and Odisha State Archives superintendent Bhagyalipi Malla are in the editorial board.

The Chief Minister also released a special issue of ‘Konark,’ a quarterly magazine of Odisha Sahitya Akademy, on Nabakalebara. The cover design of the magazine is made by Sarifoon Kadri of Balasore and she was awarded for the painting by the Chief Minister.
