Third Eye Vigil on City Zoo Soon

BHUBANESWAR: The Nandankanan Zoological Park will soon have CCTV surveillance on its premises. It has planned to install about 45 cameras which will not only keep an eye on visitors but also on certain parts of the park which are contiguous to Chandaka forests.

It has decided to procure cameras and central control units from a Government agency.

Two Central PSUs - Electronics Corporation of India Ltd and National Small Industries Corporation - have been asked to submit technical details for the CCTV project within 15 days.

“We will go through the technical presentations and decide on the vendor for the project,” sources in the animal park said.

The close circuit cameras will keep an eye on the main gate, visitors, important enclosures as well as the perimeter wall. The project is expected to be completed by the third quarter of the year.
