MLA's Driver Held for Molestation

BHUBANESWAR:  Kharvela Nagar police arrested two persons including the driver of an MLA on Sunday for allegedly misbehaving with a woman on the premises of the legislator’s quarters. They were identified as Parameswar Das of Balasore and the driver Dilip Behera of Mayurbhanj district.

Police said Behera is the driver of Remuna MLA Gobinda Chandra Das. The incident came to light after the woman lodged a police complaint against the duo. She is a resident of Gopalpur in Balasore and had come to the city to appear at an examination scheduled on Sunday. The woman was putting up temporarily at the MLA’s quarters after her tests were over when Paremeswar, an associate of Behera assaulted her.

The accused were booked under Section 354 (outraging the modesty of a woman) of the IPC and produced in a city court which sent them to judicial custody. Further investigation is on.
