BERHAMPUR: As many as 3.26 crore persons in Odisha would benefit after implementation of National Food Security Act (NFSA) from October 1, said Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Sanjay Dasburma on Tuesday. He was here to review the preparations for the launch of the Act.

All necessary precautions are being taken to prepare an error-free first list of beneficiaries which would be published at block and gram panchayat level on July 20, he said and added that the task to cover the left out families would be completed by August 14.

Incomplete applications - without name of father or spouse would be kept on hold till necessary information is provided and if a person has applied from two places, the applicant would have to submit an undertaking regarding preferred location, he said.

While the gram rozgar sevak, jogana sahayak and anganwadi workers will check the list under the supervision of Revenue Inspector, ARI, VAW, the BDOs/tehsildars selected by the concerned Collector would be the Nodal officer to hear the grievances of the beneficiaries.

The Minister said the beneficiary families would be provided a laminated ration card including Aadhar number and Voter Id card.
