DHENKANAL: The chariots of Lord Jagannath and Devi Subhadra could not reach the Gundicha temple from Rathagada in Dhenkanal town as the rituals were delayed. The chariots have been stationed at Meena Bazaar and will be pulled to their destination on Sunday. In Dhenkanal, two chariots are made with one carrying the idol of Lord Jagannath to the Gundicha temple. In another, small idols of the Trinity from the royal palace are placed and pulled to the Gundicha temple by women. Former Union minister KP Singh Deo performed the ‘Chhera Pahanra’ in the two chariots but by noon, the rituals were running behind schedule.
