Over 12,000 Aspirants Turn up at Special OJEE

BHUBANESWAR: More than 12,000 students appeared for the Special Odisha Joint Entrance Examination which was held at 15 centres in the Capital on Sunday.

The qualifying candidates of Special OJEE will be eligible for admission into BTech courses in six Government and 90 private engineering colleges across Odisha.

The Special OJEE was held for filling up BTech seats which remained vacant after completion of the JEE (Main) counselling. The candidates, who had failed in getting a rank in JEE (Main) or could not appear, wrote the special entrance exam.

The results of the Special OJEE would be announced by July 27 and counselling for the qualifying students would be held between August 8 and 14.

Meanwhile, the second phase of counselling for JEE Main candidates would commence from first week of August.

While 12,600 JEE Main qualifying students have done their choice locking in the first phase counselling, the number of BTech seats lying vacant in engineering colleges in the State was around 37,000, sources said.
