Crude Bombs Hurled at Travel Agency Office

BHUBANESWAR: Two miscreants hurled crude bombs at the office of a travel agency in BDA market near Baramunda bus stand here on Monday night.

The incident occurred at 10.55 pm while the owner of Tripathy Tours and Travels Prakash Tripathy closed his shop and was about to leave for home. The miscreants came on a motorcycle and hurled the bombs near the shop entrance.

There were no reports of anyone being injured in the incident as the bombs were of mild intensity.

While Khandagiri Police made light of the incident, the deteriorating law and order situation in the area has been a concern.

On Sunday evening, two bike-borne youths had snatched a gold necklace from a woman near Delta square. On the same day, a youth Bulu Behera was found in an unconscious state on the foothills of Khandagiri.

Sources said Behera lost sense after consuming an intoxicant laced drink which was offered by two youths near Baramunda bus stand. They flicked Behera’s cellphone and wallet and abandoned him near Khandagiri hills.

Similarly, a few days back on Khandagiri-Baramunda flyover, a group of youths slit the throat of an eunuch and fled from the spot. No arrests have been made in these cases so far.
