BHUBANESWAR: President of Utkal Bharat Party Kharavela Swain on Tuesday filed a petition against Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Vigilance Director K B Singh in local court alleging criminal conspiracy against former Director General of Police Prakash Mishra.
The sub-divisional judicial magistrate court, Khurda has posted the matter for hearing on August 20.
In his petition, Swain alleged that the Chief Minister directed the Vigilance Department to file a false case of corruption against Mishra with malafide intent to harass Mishra and damage his reputation.
Swain, former MP, lodged a complaint against Patnaik and Singh at the Capital police station here on June 27.
As the city police did not register the FIR, Swain took recourse to judicial justice.
Mishra is now Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
