State Mourns Kalam's Demise

BHUBANESWAR: The State Government on Tuesday paid rich tributes to former President APJ Abdul Kalam at the State Secretariat.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Ministers of his Cabinet, Chief Secretary GC Pati, Development Commissioner UN Behera and Secretaries of several departments offered floral tributes and mourned the demise of Kalam by observing two-minute silence. Describing Kalam as people’s president, Naveen said he was deeply shocked at the sad demise of the former President. He was one of illustrious Presidents who was a visionary leader and a gifted scientist.

Stating that Kalam was one of the finest human beings of the time, Patnaik said the former President inspired and guided millions of children to follow their dreams and explore their inherent talent.
