ANGUL: The Mining Department here made a record royalty collection in the last financial year from sale of coal in Talcher coalfield.
The department collected `956 crore as royalty against the target of `860 crore. In the previous financial year, the collection was `824 crore. In 2015-16 financial year, Talcher coalfield also made a record production of coal to the tune of 80 MT. Coal revenue constitutes the second highest revenue next to iron ore royalty in the State.
