Naveen Seeks Land for Odisha Bhavan

BHUBANESWAR: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday requested the Maharashtra Government to provide one acre land in Navi Mumbai for construction of another Odisha Bhavan in the City to cater to the growing demand for accommodation of the people from the State.

In a letter to his Maharashtra counterpart Devendra Fadnavis, the Chief Minister said to meet the growing demand of cancer patients from the State proceeding to Mumbai for better treatment at Tata Memorial Hospital and accommodate a good number of students going to the megapolis to appear in interviews, it has become absolutely necessary to create more accommodation facilities in Navi Mumbai.

“I would, therefore, request you to provide us additional land of one acre preferably in areas of Kharghar or Panvel, Navi Mumbai for construction of another accommodation of needy cancer patients and students from the State,” Naveen said.

An Odisha Bhavan has been constructed at Vashi, Navi Mumbai over a plot of 4046.87 square metres allotted by the Maharashtra Government to the Odisha Government.
