Orissa HC Chief Justice Waghela Transferred to Bombay HC

CUTTACK: Chief Justice of Orissa High Court DH Waghela has been transferred as Chief Justice of Bombay High Court. A notification was issued in the connection by Rashtrapati Bhawan on Wednesday.

Justice Waghela is expected to take charge as Chief Justice of Bombay High Court by February 11. He had joined Orissa High Court in June, 2015 and presided over the court for a short tenure of nine months only.

Waghela, who hails from Rajkot in Gujarat, had started his legal practice in the State and been a judge of Gujarat High Court from 1999 before being elevated as Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court in 2013. He had last year been transferred to Orissa High Court. Meanwhile, senior judge of Karnataka High Court Justice Vineet Saran is likely to be elevated as Chief Justice of Orissa High Court.
