On being informed, Panda’s elder brother Gyanprakash rushed to Hemtabad camp in Raigunj on Sunday night.

“On Sunday at about 2.30 pm we got a telephone call from the office of the regiment commander that our son sustained bullet injuries and was admitted to hospital there. About 20 minutes later, we received another call from the office that he succumbed to the injuries,” said Panda’s father Kirtan Behari Panda. The body had not reached the village till the report was filed.
