Fake Notes Worth Rs 12,000 Seized in Odisha

JHARSUGUDA: Fake currency notes worth Rs 12,000 were seized from a woman here on Wednesday. As many as 24 fake currency notes in the denomination of Rs 500 were recovered from the woman, Pooja.

According to the owner of Mangaspuria Jewellers, Pravin Agrawal, “Pooja had purchased gold earring worth Rs 14,000 on February 7. After she left the shop, we found out Rs 11,500 to be fake notes. But the CCTV footage was not clear.”

 On Wednesday, Pooja went to a garment shop and paid Rs 500 against the purchase of a towel. As the garment shop was a sister concern of the jewellery shop, the staff caught the woman and handed her over to Town police. During interrogation, she admitted that one Sushant Singh has been supplying her fake notes for the last six months.
